What is R.C.I.A.?
St. Anne’s initiation process for people seeking full communion with the Roman Catholic Church
consists of two parts – (1) the RCIA, or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults,
and (2) – the Christian Initiation of Children Who Have Reached Catechetical Age.
For a detailed description of the Initiation process, please see the accompanying article
(Traveling the Path to Catholocism) by Fr. William Saunders.
The RCIA introduces those wishing initiation into the life of the Parish. Meeting, worshipping with,
and working with Catholics living their faith in their parish, their families, and their communities
is the real training ground for aspiring Catholics. Interaction with these aspiring Catholics also
provides the parishioners themselves an opportunity to review and renew their own faith, and perhaps
inspire further faith formation.
St. Anne’s RCIA realizes that each individual travels a unique path in developing their faith life,
and is ready to adapt the initiation program to best facilitate that unique path. We also invite people
of any or no faith background to visit our formation sessions and seek answers to questions they may
have about the Catholic Church, or simply to join in the discussion of the current topic, regardless
of their intent to join the Church or not.
We invite you to just drop in to one of our group sessions – we currently meet on Sunday after the
8:00 AM Mass, about 9:15, and Tuesday evenings at 7:00. Join the conversation and just maybe catch the
Holy Spirit in action! See you there.
